A sad state of affair is occuring in many communities around our great country today. You hear person after person on the streets and in social gatherings talking about families going without food, families who count themselves lucky to have one meal a day or who rely heavily on free/low cost school lunches to assure that their children will have one hot meal each week day. During the summer many who rely on school and other programs have increased hunger when these programs are not available during summer months.
I have been researching and writing about the topic of nutrition and the role it plays in the health of our bodies for many years now. My search for increased income has led me to a new position in a direct sales company - Wildtree. I will be incorporating this position into what I am doing as a writer to bring to fruitation a vision that I have been passionate about for some time and that is to actively help communities to feed their families so that no family goes hungry.
The vision is still in the planning stage with my community of Jeromesville/Hayesville being the first to actively be a part of this vision. The founding members and I are working on a seminar-based system that will touch all five senses in order to share the information about nutrition being key to healthy living.
Return to this blog to read how this vision unfolds and when it may be coming to your community.
I will be posting not only updates on this blog but articles on nutrition for blog readers to enjoy, learn from, and share with others.
Have a safe and healthy day!

First Adjustment
My family has been going to a chiropractor, Dr. Jenny Pamer in Ashland, Ohio for a little over a year and this week my husband gave me $25 for Mothers Day so I added a little to that amount and was able to afford to have my very first adjustment. It was wonderful. I could actually move my head to the left and almost touch my shoulder again with it. I did not feel any hot or cold sensations which can occur after the first adjustment. I was a little sore the next morning but with my osteoarthritis aches and pains are nothing new so it did not bother me at all.
I highly recommend using a chiropractor as part of your regular health regime. Every member of your family can reap health benefits from receiving adjustments from a qualified, experienced chiropractor.
If you are in the Ashland, Ohio area, I highly recommend Dr. Jenny Pamer. Her chiropractor clinic is known as Victory Chiropractic and it is located in the Amberwood Plaza which is next to the Wal-Mart in Ashland, Ohio.
Take care everyone. Do something wonderful for the health of your body and mind each day.

Cleaning Your Home With Non-Toxic Products
We moved in September of 2003 and just before the move I discovered a company that sold environmentally friendly and non-toxic products for cleaning. I vowed to always clean my home with these products. As a mom and animal lover it had really shocked me to find out just how toxic the cleaning products I had been purchasing through my local store had been. As an asthmatic, I often found myself using my inhaler to relieve symptoms on cleaning days and not knowing the connection between my asthma and the products I was using until I read the information on the company Website. My youngest daughter suffers from eczema and we had tried different cremes and lotions trying to give her some relief. It wasn't until we were using the laundry liquid from this company that I found out that she was reacting to the harsh chemicals in our previous laundry liquid. She now has zero eczema symptoms! YEAH.
Now almost 4 years later I am still using these cleaning products to clean my home. I use the dish liquid, floor cleaner, bathroom cleaner, laundry liquid and dryer sheets. I also use other products they have as well and am still very happy with the quality of the products, the economic value and the excellent service that the company has always provided when ever I had any questions about the products or about an order I had placed. The shipping is fast and comes UPS ground. Returns and exchanges are handled quickly and without any hassles.
I would like to share this company with my readers. You can find it by following this link

Basic Skin Care Secrets

Basic Skin Care Secrets
Skin care has become complicated over the years as well as expensive. There are basic skin care secrets everyone should know and it shouldn’t cost a fortune to do it. If you try to stay as natural as possible with your products, avoid harmful UV rays and maintain mental and physical health, your skin will be in optimum condition.
If you are stressed, your skin will have problems. Whether you are losing sleep or are spending every waking minute in a state of worry and anxiety, you won’t have that healthy glow to your face. Try meditation or relaxation techniques as well as exercise, which can both help immensely with reducing stress.
The skin is an organ of the body and one of it’s roles is to release toxins the body wishes to expel. This is through sweat, blemishes and even discoloration. If you have a high level of toxins in your body, you may have dark circles under your eyes, acne and bad body odor. Try changing to a diet full of healthy, natural food and plenty of water and you will definitely notice the positive impact this has on your skin. A good diet will also help reduce your stress levels.
What you drink is very important when it comes to your skin. It’s fine to have a couple of coffees or soft drinks a day, as long as you drink at least eight glasses of water. By keeping a bottle of water with you at all times, you will find you naturally sip it at regular intervals, which will have a big impact on your skin. The more water you drink, the more toxins your body can eliminate through urine, leaving your skin clear and blemish free. If you’re dehydrated through smoking, high sugar diet or inadequate water intake, your skin will lose elasticity and also age faster.
Some skin care products are packed with chemicals some professionals have proven to be toxic or harmful. Do some research on the internet or buy a good book on natural skin care so you know which ones you want to avoid in your products. Although some creams and masks may have initial positive effects, the long-term use can do more harm than good, so be sure to educate yourself.
Because the pores of the skin excrete oil, it is very easy for them to catch and become clogged with dirt. This is what we all know as blackheads and often progress to pimples. The dirt, dust and grit become stuck to the oil and over a short time, become lodged deep in the pores. You need to wash your face every single day, twice a day to clean the pores regularly, as this is the only way to avoid blackhead build up. If you already have a bad backlog of blackheads you can’t seem to get rid of, you may want to consider seeing a qualified beautician to work on unclogging your pores.
Your basic skin care routine should consist of three regular steps twice a day. The first step is to wash or cleanse your face. Most people prefer a cleansing cream, but those with more problem skin may like to use an acne wash or sensitive skin product. For very sensitive skin, there are some fantastic natural or soap free brands available, so don’t ever use something that burns or is too drying or harsh for your skin type. After you have washed and rinsed your face and neck, you should use a toner. This is often overlooked, but toners are responsible for closing your pores after the wash has opened them. Using a cotton ball or pad to wipe toner over your face will also remove any extra dirt that wasn’t removed with your cleansing process. Again, don’t use a toner that causes any discomfort at all and your skin should feel smooth and soothed after applying it. Third, apply a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin. Do not use a heavy, deep moisture if your skin is oily, because it will only clog your pores and cause problems. If you have very dry skin, you should use a heavier product.
The secret to looking after your skin is trial and error. Don’t settle for the same product you have been using since you were young and don’t be afraid to try new things. Spend time looking at what is available and reading and comparing the ingredients and information. Ask people you know who have admirable skin which products they use, then give them a try. When you find the right one for you, your skin will feel calm, clean, soft and supple and you will have a natural, healthy glow every time you use it. Only use scrubs and masks weekly or fortnightly, as skin is fragile and doesn’t respond well to over treatment.
If you really want great skin, you need a healthy body, mind and beauty routine. Eat well, drink a lot of water, avoid junk foods and exercise regularly. Use the right products for your skin and keep your face clean. Buy products with long-term use in mind, avoiding chemicals that could be potentially harmful or toxic and if you are interested in knowing more about skin care, there are many good books available for purchase.

Healthy Hair Care Secrets
Healthy hair care is not simply about which brand of shampoo and conditioner you use, but also involves maintaining your physical and mental health. Although using some products can certainly have a negative impact on your hair’s appearance, if you are a healthy person, you can use almost any brand and your hair will still look fantastic.
There are certain chemicals some professionals recommend avoiding in shampoo and conditioners. Some of these are Butylated Hydroxytoluene, Coal Tar, Cocamide DEA/Lauramide DEA, Diazolidinyl Urea, Formaldehyde, Parabens (methyl, ethyl, propyl and butyl), Propylene Glycol, Triethanolamine and Sodium Laureth/Sodium Laurel Sulfate. Each of these chemicals has been shown to have harmful effects and to avoid them, you should ensure you read and understand everything listed in your product’s ingredients.
Do not use two-in-one shampoo and conditioner products - ever! Shampoo is designed to have one effect on your hair, while conditioner is supposed to do another and one application can not do both! Shampoo opens the pores or scales on the hair follicles and cleans away any build up of oil, dirt and pollutants. Conditioner closes or smoothes the follicles down, filling them with clean moisture and protection. It is important to do both, regardless of your hair type.
Be extremely wary of products that leave a chemical buildup on your hair. If you avoid the above-mentioned chemicals, this should not happen. Some brands will encase your hair follicles in a thin silicone coating, which may appear wonderful at first, but builds up over time and leaves your hair brittle and resistant to moisture. Hairdressers have been known to refuse to attempt to apply any product to hair that has long-term buildup, because they know results will either be uneven or completely ineffective.
If you want your hair to be at its best, a balanced diet full of healthy, natural foods is absolutely essential! Fatty, greasy, processed and sweet foods lead to toxic bodies and oily, fine, limp and dull hair. You will have noticed when people either put on a lot of weight or are unhealthy and skinny, their hair loses its body and thickness and also changes color. Circulation is also very important for healthy hair, so exercise regularly and drink plenty of water. If you still feel your diet is lacking, you can give yourself a boost with a quality, daily multi-vitamin and there are herbs you can take for hair, such as horsetail, to improve the strength and thickness.
A true secret to healthy hair care is not to go all-out every day. Try to give your hair regular breaks from suffocating products such as gel, hairspray and mouse. Some leave in conditioning mists are good, as long as they don’t have styling product in them as well. If you can treat your hair with a deep moisturizing product once a week, you will definitely see the benefits. If you only worry about styling your hair for special occasions, you will have fewer split-ends and more natural re-growth. When it comes to using the hair dryer, try to leave this for special occasions also. When you do use it, make sure your hair is wet and stop using it once it is dry. The reason for this is because it’s this drying of the already dry hair that causes the most damage.
There is a wealth of information on the internet relating to natural and healthy hair care secrets. Do your research and start looking after your hair as best you can today. Don’t accept that your hair is as it is, because there are definitely things you can do, use and take to improve its condition. Beautiful, healthy hair is an attractive quality and with the right care for your hair, you can achieve this every single day.
